Why Hobab
A blog named after something that barely exists, and why every post here gets to choose its own shape.
Hobab (حباب) is Persian for bubble. A bubble is a film a few hundred nanometres thick, holding a shape for a moment before it’s gone. That felt like an honest name for a place where I write things down.
Posts that choose their shape
Most blogs pour every idea into the same mould: title, paragraphs, maybe an image. Some ideas fit that mould. Others want to move, to be listened to, or to be poked at until they make sense.
So here, a post can be:
- an essay, like this one, when words are enough
- a story drawn on a canvas that unfolds as you scroll
- an interactive piece you can change and break
- a podcast episode, when a voice says it better
Two languages
I think in two languages, so I write in two. Some posts exist in both English and Persian. Some only in one. When a translation exists, you’ll find it in the top corner.
